By the middle of the nineteenth century, the Irish language was rarely heard in every day life in Ireland. During the last twenty-five to thirty years, a serious effort has been made to preserve and spread the language. Our chapter is proud to be a part of that effort. Classes in Irish are presented in the fall and spring in ten-week sessions. The classes are currently designed for those with some background in the Irish language either from previous classes or from self-study. The Spring 2007 semester will begin in March.
